The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a free service available for Kaiser Permanente physicians, employees and their dependent family members. Speak with an EAP Counselor to get support with issues such as:

  • Work or Personal Stress
  • Emotional or Psychological Concerns
  • Family and Relationship Difficulties
  • Alcohol and Drug Abuse
  • Domestic Violence
  • Financial and Legal Referrals
  • Dependent Care Issues

EAP Counselors are licensed, trained clinicians with years of experience and are available for short-term problem-solving on a wide range of issues at no charge. For scheduling convenience, consultations can be either face-to-face near work, home, or by phone and can be held during regular business hours.

Any assistance you receive through EAP is completely confidential and is not noted in your medical or personnel file. Your decision to use the program is entirely voluntary. When you contact the EAP, you and the counselor will decide on the next appropriate step. In some cases, the EAP counselor may recommend treatment that is covered by your medical plan.

For assistance or referral information, please contact your local EAP office. EAP services are available during regular business hours. If you have a psychiatric emergency, call 1-800-900-3277 – licensed therapists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
